Maybe I'm just not following here, but I think we're talking about two entirely different things. The FO being disappointed in Campbell and having wanted to replace him is a horse of one color, believing that as a result they'd somehow intentionally set up the team for failure is a dyspeptic platypus.
Sorry, just not feelin' this one. Though Aston's post was entertaining as hell. :)
His winning percentage doesn't look great but I'd aliken his tenure there to Gibbs II. Overall he was probably (without looking....I'm lazy) Gibbs II was well under .500. But I'd take the results of his second run pretty much any day.
I think you could argue that if Gibbs could sustain what he was doing (i.e. playoffs every other year) the team might get lucky and find its way to a superbowl.....which IMO is all that really matters.
Ultimately many of the decisions Gibbs the GM made have us in the roster position we are in today. Unfortuntley we don't have Gibbs the coach to bail us out.
Anyway, we need the right coach....not sure yet if Zorn is it.....but I think we know for sure we don't have the right FO. And I'm not sure failing will help these guys because they don't seem to learn anything.

Dypeptic platypus? :rotflmao:
I can certainly understand you guys' incredulity. However I came to this conclusion after trying for some time to plausibly answer the following question. What possible reason could Snyderatto have had for doing nothing to address our most glaring offensive problem? Correction, our most glaring problem period? After all, our defense was 4th ranked in spite of not having a pass rush. However our offense literally ground to a halt in the 2nd half of last season in large part due to the OL as a whole and especially due to the limitations on Zorn's playcalling brought about by Jon "Turnstile" Jansen.
We plunked down really big $$$ to get Haynesworth, Hall and Dockery in FA. By Ceratto's own admission we were doing our best to trade up not for one of the top tier OTs, but for a DE. The final nail in the coffin for me was that we didn't even bother spending one of our late round picks on the position even though there was a guy with a 2nd round grade that dropped all the way to the 5th round.
We all know the lengths Snyder will go to to fix an area of need. So again, please do offer a more plausible explanation for why we'd leave such a glaring need unadressed going into a make or break year for JC and Zorn? I'm sorry but I I tried and I got nothin'-other than Snyderatto is planing on JC and probably Zorn being replaced in 2010.
