I'm sure this won't be a popular possibility, but I wonder if Zorn may be a big part of the urgency to look elswhere. I understand he is being diplomatic towards Campbell with the press, but it's his job that's on the line if we have another season of .500 or worse.
We all like Campbell the guy, and a lot of us have been making excuses for him because of that, but maybe Zorn came to a conclusion that after watching him regress back into his old habits in the 2nd half of the season that there isn't much more a coach can do.
I've thought about this, and that is exactly what I'm HOPING is the case...
Because the alternative is that Zorn really likes Campbell and thinks he can win with him, while Vinny and Snyder have other ideas.
Things usually don't end well when Dan and Vinny select a QB against the head coach's wishes. Supplanting Brad Johnson with Jeff George was the beginning of the end of the relationship with Norv, and cutting Wuerffel was the beginning of the end of the relationship with Spurrier.
Now, I'm not suggesting for a minute that Norv or Spurrier were worth keeping...but when Vinny and Dan start going against the head coach's wishes about who the QB will be, it usually means Vinny and Dan are losing interest in the head coach.
