Good to see you made your way to the land of sanity Tommy. Welcome bro.
You're right about our OL Tommy. However, I think it goes deeper than that. Snyderatto seems to want to fill every position that opens up with an established star instead of keeping a shrewd eye out for up and coming talent that serves a valuable role as depth while being developed. The Steelers, Gnats, Fecals and Patsies are all adept at doing this. Notice a pattern there?
Unfortunately in the salary cap era Snyderatto's bypass the draft strategy just isn't viable. There aren't enough salary cap $$ available to fill every need that way. Even more distressing, Snyderatto seems to have not understood which positions can be "shorted" (e.g. LB/DB/RB) and which positions absolutely can't be "shorted" (OL/DL) if you want to have a shot at success.

Well, Yusuf, up-and-coming talent just doesn't sell a lot of jerseys!
The senile optimist in me is hoping the Oline is next year's focus. Of course, even if this occurs, the improvement must be tempered with the reality that today's old starters will degrade even further. Thus the problem will be greater. Nevertheless, let's don the self delusional glasses and ponder the positive.
- I am very hopeful the Williams experiment will pay dividends next year (not really expecting much this year). If so, that’s one bona fide starter.
- Dockery should be in his prime. Starter #2
- A serviceable/decent new FA. Starter #3
- 1st or 2nd round draft pick (the glasses makes me assume he pans out). Starter #4
- Samuels has at least 1-2 more good years in him (hopefully). Starter #5
- From the remaining roster I am hoping we have a little depth.
Of course, a key component of this fantasy is that JC has a good season and is resigned. Otherwise I fear some high draft picks will be sacrificed for that elusive QB savior. I know this probably won’t happen, but the beauty of the off season is that you can have these daydreams without reality getting in the way.
